Fridays Nature Table....

Great Backyard Bird Count....
Its time for the annual bird count.  Its so easy to do, and fun for everyone too!

Here is the official website with all of the information you'll need.

Just plan to spend 15 minutes counting birds where ever you like to watch birds.  Back yard, patio, park, wherever.  Then enter your results here.  There are three days to participate.  You can choose any or all of the days.  All information helps.

They have a whole page set up with information on including your children.  I like the the sound quiz, and I am awful at it.

In the past what ends up happening is I watch for birds two times a day.  Once with my babies, who are so excited and noisy that we don't really see any birds, just play outside for a while.  Then again when I am alone, with some tea and a pad of paper.  What ever works for your family!

I can find the birds, but taking their picture, eh, that's another story...

Oh-- this is perfect! We've been on a birding craze ever since we spotted a northern hawk owl near our house....
